Nell, Isham "Shadyback" McLamb was first married to Penelope Honeycutt and had seven children. She died in 1862.
His son Isham "Cottonhead" was in the Civil War with my ggf Damiel Tew. Isham Jr. was then engaged with Melissa Adeline Royal. He wrote to Isham Jr. and told him, if Melissa does not mean that much to you, I would like to marry her. His son wrote back, that if she will have you, I do not want her. Isham Sr. was them 45 and married Melissa and them had Eight children. When Isham was about 65 he broke up a marriage of Elijah Tew and his new bride. This is documented in Sampson Court Records. I have a photo of Isham Sr. and Melissa A. Royal McLamb. In 1895, they were in Clinton and the Father and son were about to fight each other and were pulled apart. This was in the Clinton Paper for 1895. Isham "ShadyBack" farmed two miles west of Pinny Green and at the Harnett Church Road connection to the High Horse Road. His gravestone was pulled from the woods broken and remove to our family cemetery about 3 miles south. His son by wife #2 married Nacissus Drauhom and they were my grandparents. Jerome Tew
