Nicole, John was living in Pike Co., AL during the 1860 census with his second wife Emily. One of their daughter's, Ida, married my great-grandfather Martin Grant. I have a copy of that census info if you would like, plus some other info on all of John's children:

Martin Grant b. 1857 d. 1945 Married Ida McKown
They had five children:
Charles Grant
Murray Grant
John Grant
Annie Grant
M.C. Grant
Guy Grant - this is my grandfather
