I also found a Richard Henry McKown b 29 Mar 1875 listed in the WW 1 draft card registration for Page Co., IO
The 1910 census list that this is 1st marriage for both and that they have been married for 10 years. So they must have married shortly after the 1900 census was taken. It also states that Richards parents...father was born in Illinois and his mother was born in Missouri. Also note there first child was born in Missouri. At this time I cannot find Richard in the 1880 census. He has got to be there but the surname McKown has various spellings. I know as a child they would misspell and mispronouce it when I was in school.
I would say Atchinson Co., MO and Page Co., Iowa would be a good place to start looking.
