John McKown: Meigs Co., OH>LaPorte Co., IN>Hammond, Lake Co., IN

I am trying to determine whether a certain John McKown belongs in my family tree. He was a blacksmith, born about 1819-1820 in Virginia, and married to a woman named Hannah. In 1850 and 1860 they were in Letart Twp., Meigs Co., OH; in 1870 & 1880, in Wanatah, La Porte Co., IN. Supposedly they died in Hammond, Lake County, Indiana - Hannah (Hayman?) on 1 Mar 1898 and John on 28 Nov 1916. I have not been able to find John in the 1900 or 1910 census records. I would like to know the names of John's parents and siblings. Does anyone have an obit for either John or Hannah? Or has anyone been able to find John in 1900 or 1910?
