WOW....so much wonderful information....exactly what we've been hoping to discover. of course, we have many more questions. we, also,own a photo of the house and the wedding portrait, isabella sent them to mrs. stewart who presented the pictures to the museum. larry and i recently had them printed in the vermilion standard. who are the folks on the porch in the photo of the front of the house; man sitting on rail with banjo-or gun of some sort(joseph), small girl...another male figure and a woman(elizabeth). we would, of course, love to see other pictures.
how did joseph happen to come to vermilion?
what brought elizabeth's parents to vermilion? where was their home?
where were the quarter sections located outside vermilion?
where was joseph from in the states?
after joseph died did elizabeth remain in edmonton?
what year was the house built? oh, sooooo many questions....
