I found some info about your McKiticks. I was looking for someone else and happened on this forum. In the "McKitrick Book" David is listed as the son of William and Nancy (Phillips) McKitrick b: 2 June 1846 at Carlyle, Noble Co., Ohio and he d: 13 Sept 1923 in Waterloo Twp., Athens Co., Ohio and he's shown as buried in Marshfield Cemetery (I'm guessing that's in Athens Co. also, but don't take that as fact).
According to the book, William is shown in the 1850 Stock Twp., Monroe Co., Ohio census age 29 with wife Nancy age 25, son David age 3 and daughter Clarinda age 1 month. David enlisted in Co. F, 129 Ohio volunteer Infantry Regiment on Aug 2, 1863 at Marietta, Ohio. His age is listed on the records as 17. He was discharged March 5, 1864 at Cleveland, Ohio. From Pension records his wife is listed as Augusta and she was dead at that time. A Washington Co., Ohio court record shows a son of David and Augusta (John) being married.
The book lists three possible wives for David. #1 Mary Ross (probably died very young) #2 Augusta Reed (I think he married her right after the Civil war. She was from Texas) and #3 Sarah Bennet.
I found a fourth marriage in the Ohio Marriage Records: DAVID FERRIS McKITTRICK & MILLER, CATHERINE
Marriage Date: 17 Sep 1898 Jackson Co., WV
Since Sarah is listed on David's death certificate as his deceased wife Catherine was probably before Sarah.
The marriage to Augusta is probably before 1880 and she's thought to have died by 1911 (actually she died before 1880, David is listed on that census with wife Christine and their children). Sarah is shown as his deceased wife on David's death certificate. The son John is the only child listed for David. John b: April 5, 1881 in W. Va. he married Amanda Collins 18 Apr 1905 at Marietta, Ohio Amanda b: Feb 8, 1883 in W. Va.
David is said to have lived in Hookinsville, Mo., Fontana, Kansas, Sandy and Ravenswood, W. Va. Elgin and New Marshfield, Ohio.
I found David on the 1920 Union Twp., Jackson Co., W. Va. census. He's listed as age 74 born in Ohio Father and Mother born in Ohio. His wife is Sarah age 67 born in W. Va. Father and Mother born in W. Va. He's listed as a farmer on his Home Farm.
I found David's Civil War pension index. It doesn't have Augusta's name on it but the other records may list her. He applied on 10 Jan 1886 (The date wasn't very clear, the 0's may have been 6's). He was in Co., F, 129 Ohio Infantry. The Application number is: 33 F 131 and the certificate number is: 535 553. You might get a bit more if you send for the records.I also found the following marriage for David: 14 April 1914 Jackson Co., WV
MC KITRICK, David 66 born ..../residing Jackson Co.
BENNETT, Sarah C. 60 born ..../residing Jackson Co.
In other words David was a busy man.

He had at least two sons John b: abt 1877 WV and
Jobe b: abt 1879 WV
