I think we may have a more distant connection but do not have enough information to know for certain. My ancestor Rosina McKissock of Ballantrae married James Gray in 1772. Their daughter Mary had a son Matthew Fergusson in Ballantrae in 1813. Matthew and his wife Catherine married in Girvan in 1836 and at one point also lived in the Gorbals where one of their children - Rosina - was born in 1841.
There are several McKissocks in the OPR of this period in Ballantrae, but so far I have not found Rosina's birth records or been able to determine her parents. Another Rosina McKissock married in Ballantrae in 1748 - I suspect her aunt, but have not found proof of this to be certain. If you know more and can connect these families please let me know. Regards, Fiona
