Thanks for responding! I eventually figured out that my 'Eliza' was Elizabeth McKissick and her husband George J. Woodard was generally known as Johnston Woodard. Once I ued the right search terms it all came together. Eliza's parents were John D. McKissick & Mary Eliz. Marshall.

I'm still curious about the Marshall family...Mary Eliz. Marshall was the child of George Marshall, who was not related to Supreme Court Justice John Marshall (despite the published misinformation), but could he have had a close relative by that name whom others confused w/the more famous & learned Marshall? There was a John Marshall, son of William Marshall in the general vicinity. Wish I could connect them with George.
