Sharon,
I have been working on the McKinzie line for several years. My line goes from John through his son James Henry McKinzie. You can follow "Henry" because he was a wagon maker. The spelling of the name changes every census. He moves from Sevier Tennessee in 1840 to Murray, Georgia in 1850 to Washington, Arkansas in 1860 and 1870 and Montague, Texas in 1880. His son William Mack (1840) is my GGGrandfather. The family lore has the McKinzies coming out of Dundee Scotland. Let me know how you do with John's father. Everything I have is vague.
