I think we may be researching the same McKenzie/McKinzie family. My Great-Grandmother was Mary Elizabeth McKenzie. She was born in Travis County, Texas about 1854. She married Henry H. Bilberry in 1873 in Travis County. Henry and Mary eventually settled in Kent County abt. 1885. I know that there were other Bilberry/Bilbrey and McKenzie/McKinzie family that moved there and to the joining counties of Dickens and Stonewall. I think that Grover McKinzie may be the son of one of Mary E.'s brothers. I also know that there are ties to Lampasas County, TX. I AGREE, the McKenzie/McKinzie ancestors are very illusive.
