Helen,

I'll have to check but I believe GWM's grandson George W. Mckinsey, born about 1821 in Ohio, had the middle name of Worley. I haven't spent much time on this fellow but I believe he was a confederate soldier. If so his military doc's should list the name.

Since middle names used to be a way of retaining maternal maiden names, could this have been the maiden name of the older GWM's mother???

A good example is my great grandfather George Reagan McKenzie, named for his great-great grandmother Catherine Reagan and the numerous George Mckinsey/McKenzie's
