Hello,
I'm not sure if my g-g-g-grandpa George W. Mckinsey was in the civil war. I do know that his parents were Mordecai McKinsey and Catherine Reagan. He was born in Ohio about 1821 and married Hester Anne Leach in Frankfort, Indiana in 1848.
George and Hester's second son, Jasper Mckinsey was my g-g-g-grandpa. He was born in Clinton County, Indiana in 1849. There were several other siblings and the family moved to Texas in the 1850's. The 1860 census shows the family in Montague County, Texas. After that family grew, separated and lived in Johnson, Parker, Hamilton and Tarrant counties during the late 1800's and early 1900's.
Bruce
