I am seeking information on Duncan McKinnon who married Catherine McMillan in Jan 1867 at St Columban Church at Irishtown. She was the d/o Hugh and Mary McMillan and he the s/o Donald (deceased) and Ann McDonald McKinnon. They were both born in Scotland (he abt 1839 she 1836). They settled with their families in Huron County, Tuckersmith Twp Ontario. As a couple they had 4 children that I know of: Donald b 1868, Mary b 1869, John Alexander b 1871, and Sarah born in the USA in 1874. Catherine aged abt 45 is found (w/o Duncan)in the 1881 census living with her widowed mother Mary and her own 4 children the youngest Sarah having been born in the USA. Catherine is noted as being married rather than widowed. They are not at the same location in the 1891 census (her mother Mary died in June 1892). It is possible they relocated maybe to the USA or to western Cda but I have not found them in censuses. It is also possible Duncan died.
Duncan had numerous siblings including Murdock who married Ann McDonald 1869 and had daughters Isabella 1870 and Ellen in 1874. Would like to know what happened to them as well.
His brother John married Bridget Ward and they farmed in McKillop Twp. They had Alexander, john Edward, Winifred, Sarah Maria, Donald. Bridget died 1932. Her daughter Sarah McKinnon aged 50 wsa in Brussels Ont at the time.
