Welcome to the world of family history!!! Changes in spelling from one census to another is not uncommon. A lot of it comes from the fact that enumerators often wrote the name the way it sounded to them, and remember, not everyone could read and write. Also, if a member of the household was not in the house at the time, (working in a field or something) whoever was in the house could have given the info. Heck, you can't always depend on a death certificate to tell the truth - depending on who was the informant. Anyway, good luck with the hunt! Notify Administrator about this message?
