SARAH McKINNIE (aka McQUINNIE) was probably born in Wales; sailed from England to America. Sarah was a sister of Michael McKinney, who also settled in Isle of Wight Co VA. Sarah McKinney Thomas, along with her husband, Phillip Thomas, and a son, Evan Thomas had their passage to America paid by one, William Hunt. William Hunt claimed 800 acres of land on a branch of Nansemond River in VA using the headrights of several persons he transported, including Phillip, Sarah and Evan Thomas, and Michael McKinney, on 14 Dec 1635. [The Thomas' were probably already in America prior to 1635. The headrights didn't have to be claimed at the time of arrival.]

The known children of Phillip and Sarah McKinnie Thomas are:
EVAN THOMAS
JOSEPH THOMAS
MICHAEL THOMAS
ROBERT THOMAS
JOHN THOMAS
PHILLIP THOMAS
MOURNING THOMAS
PRISCILLA THOMAS.

The parentage of Sarah McKinney has not been determined by this contributor.

This family of Thomas' migrated to North Carolina (see Edgecombe and Bertie Co NC records.)

Happy hunting......
