Hi Michael,

Louise J. Pace (which could be Louise Josephine or Josephine Louise) is the daughter of Eliza Warren and Columbus McKinnis. I found the marriage record for Miss Josephine McKinnis and Mr. H. C. Pace in Guadalupe County. They married June 17, 1885. Eliza Warren and Columbus McKinnis came from Mississippi to Fannin County, Texas. Columbus was only 25 years old and died with Mississippi Bowel Disease (according to the 1870 Fannin County Mortality Schedule). He is buried in the Bell Cemetery near Savoy, Texas, Fannin County. I visited this cemetery recently and it was in such a deplorable condition that I could not get into the area where Columbus and his son, Albert, are buried. I wanted to get pictures for the Warren Family here in La Vernia. G.Columbus McKinnis was born 11/14/1843 and died 7/17/1869. Albert McKinnis (brother of Louise) was born 10/22/1866 and died 9/1869. I wrote to the county judge and commissioners of Fannin County about this cemetery but have not received a reply.

Louisa's mother, Eliza Warren, was a sister to Joseph Curtis Warren from Mississippi. Joseph Warren and wife are buried in the Concrete Cemetery. Eliza married Harry Carpenter in Guadalupe County after coming to this area with Joseph C. Warren and Family. She died in 1920 and was buried in the Concrete Cemetery in an unmarked grave. I have done a long search on this family. I had a stone placed in the Warren section of the cemetery for Eliza.

Go into the Fannin County website and pull up the Bell Cemetery. It has a Texas Historical Marker. You will find Columbus and Albert listed on the Bell Cemetery Census. Will be happy to send you a copy of the marriage license, copy of the pictures I took of the cemetery and a copy of the letter I sent to the county judge. If you have questions, let me know. I am so happy that I could get this information for you. shirley Grammer
