I have a Patience whoes husband Benjamin Sherrod died in Halifax Co., N.C. in 1759. On the Sherrod forum I found her last name to be McKinnie. She then married my William Leggitt Sr. and had 4 children by him. I have her name age as b. in 1735. She had at least 4 children by Sherrod, and maybe more. The youngest was b. in 1751, the oldest one must of been old enough to be consideded old enough to over see his plantation if the mother remarried. Her husband Leggitt died 1810 and was born 1820, she died about about 1804. Chould there be a connection between your Patience and mine. Do you know her family, did she have a brother who named a child after her? Thanks for your help LINDA
