Hi All -
Looking for parents of my GG Grandfather Dr. James McKinney, born circa 1808 in Westmoreland, VA, moved to Comitan de Dominguez, Chiapas, Mexico sometime after 1833. There he married Quirina Dominguez and was known as Don Santiago Maquene.

Some think he was the son of Gerard McKinney and Peggy Templeton, but I can't find corroborating data. Could also be son of James McKinney and Mary Sutton, also of Westmoreland, who had a son James B. around that time but of whom I find no more information.

Can anyone connect this far-flung McKinney with his old Virginny Home?
