Hi, I'm new to the forum. I have been researching my family lines for two years now, so I'm quite new to this process. Anyway, I am the grand-daughter of Duane Peterson McKinney who was the son of Arthur Leland McKinney. I have tracked Arthur's line up to Joseph Robert McKinney, b 10 June 1748, Hunterdon Co., Colony of New Jersey, d 1838, Fairview, Randolph Co., IN, mar Bedford Co., VA, Susan McVey, b Bedford d Newport, Campbell Co., KY.  Service:  He enlisted in the Continental Army of the American Revolution, served as a private in Capt. Harry Terrell's Company, 5th Regt. of Foot under Col. Josiah Parker.  He fought at Bunker Hill and the Battle of Brandywine.

I want to know who Joseph's parents were - I am trying to trace his line back to Scotland as my father, Nicholas, insists that we are from the clan MacKinnon. Anyone have any information? It would be much appreciated. Thank you!!
