Albert Champion "CHAMP" Jones was son of Clisby Riggs "Tib I" Jones and Malinda Van Winkle. Champ was born 11 Oct 1846, Jones Prairie, Polk County, Texas, died 14 June 1918, at Huntington, Angelina County, Texas, buried in Jonesville cemetery. He married (1) Susan J. Berry on 17 November 1868, Angelina County, Texas, daughter of Andrew Berry and Nancy McKinney. Susan was born 10 February 1850, Nacogdoches County, Texas and died about 1897 at Sulpher, Oklahoma (then Indian territory), where they had moved so
Susan could receive the sulphur treatments for her TB. She died and is buried in Sulphur. Champ and Susan had one child, Champ Cleveland Jones, b 4 march, 1893, Indian Teritory, died 15 january 1975, Angelina County, Texas.
Albert Champion Jones married (2), 26 Dec 1899, Angelina Co., Tx to Lavenia H. Blake and had 4 more children.
Several of my Jones family members married into the Berry Family.
