There are several people who have posted messages about the family of Collin McKinney who m1 Bluebird ca 1816. She reputedly died a year or so later. However the messages are very old and the email addresses of those who posted are apparently out of date. Collin appeared in the 1820 census for Monroe County, Mississippi at which time his household was enumerated with three males under ten years and two males 16 - 26 years and also one female 16 - 26 years. Since there were TWO males approximately the same age (16-26 yo) it is impossible to say with certainty whether those three young males were sons of Collin or of the other man. Living next door was Archibald McKinney with one male under ten years and two males 26 - 45 years. Again, with two males the same age, one cannot say anything definite about who the young boy belonged to. Also in Monroe County in 1820 was James McKinney (26-45 yo), John McKinney (also 26-45 yo), Jesse McKinney (over 45 yo) and Peter McKenney (also over 45 yo). Living near these James, John and Jesse was a man, Thomas Bird, who had two males >45 yo in his household. Is there any possibility that one of these Bird men would have been the father of "Bluebird", the reputed first wife of Collin? Is there some possibility that her name got confused/messed up/ mangled over the years? What is the proof that Collin was married to a woman named Bluebird? Has anyone researched the Monroe County, Mississippi court records for any evidence to help understand this family better? Notify Administrator about this message?
