Thank you for your response. I've found your webpage most informative!However, I do have several questions:
1)If John McKinney's will was probated in July Term 1794, why does the gravestone indicate that he d. 1804?Two different John McKinneys??
2)John McKinney Jr. seems to have been the sole heir of his father's property - and that was listed in the will as being in Pennsylvania. Do you have any idea what happened to the property in North Carolina?
3)John McKinney Jr. [b. 1760] settled in Macoupin County, Illinois and died there in 1843. You indicate that he had seven children; do you know the names of the children?
4)Do you know if any of John, sr. and Jean's grandchildren were given the name of Jonathan other than the one born to William & Elizabeth? Of course, William's father-in-law was Jonathan, so it makes sense that perhaps the name did not appear anywhere else in the line.
