Greetings Robert:
I was very intrigued with your posting of possessing
info. of your Dumfries heritage. I hope you can share
some knowledge with me, if it is in your bible of names.
Susan McDougall was the third child of John McDougall
and Jessie Herries of Dumfries and she married a McKinnell
(we do not have a first name). Their son William J.
McKinnell came to Canada around 1850 and settled near
Hamilton, Ont. He was born in Dumfries on June 26, 1826
and was my great, great grandfather.
If you have any info. on William's family in Dumfries
it would be appreciated by my family. Anyone else who reads this can contact me at nmckinnell@bfree.on.ca.
P.S. My younger brother is also named Robert McKinnell.
