Do you have this information on the John-Benjamin McKinley link? I thought it was rather interesting.
"Does anyone know the origins of John McKinley who built a home In what was then Prince George's Co. MD In 1743? The house was one long room and thatched. In 1767, the Mason-Dixon line was surveyed, and the house wound up half in PA and half in MD. It was eventually registered in Frederick Co. MD, but the address is PA and the current owners pay taxes in two states. It is operated as a B & B. William Stewart, the second owner added a second story in 1793 made of brick from Baltimore used as ships ballast. I have run across a Benjamin McKinley in other transactions with William Stewart. This John McKinley was supposedly a slave trader according to an article in a Maryland newspaper a few years ago."
I ran across it while looking for my ancestor William McKinley who moved from York Co. (where he was born circa 1740) to the Frederick/Baltimore Co. area that later became Carrol Co MD. I wondered if there is a connection, but could not find any. My William was supposedly a member of the family that resulted in the President, but I still haven't been able to find the exact connection. I read your findings on your webpage. Maybe your research will turn up new information.
