Daniel McKillip and Nancy Lawson were my 2nd great-grandparents. Daniel and his brothers William and John and father John with mother first name unknown, came to Fayette County, Ohio Before 1812 probably closer to 1806-1808. In 1815 William married Peggy Robinson and Elizabeth McKillip, a sister of Daniel married William Kendall. In 1820 Daniel married Nancy Lawson. In 1827-1828 The families of William Kendall, William Halliday(married to Catherine McCalip in NC another possible sister ), and Daniel McKillip all moved to Tippecanoe County, IN. The Hallidays moved to Sheffield and the Kendalls and McKillips moved to Tippecanoe Twp. I am descended from James McKillip oldest son of Daniel and Nancy.

I believe that Daniel and his siblings came from the Guilford/Stokes area of NC. That is where the Kendalls came from as well. I think there is a relationship between the John McKillip son of Hugh McKillip and spouse of Elizabeth Whicker, but that John was married too late to be the father. He married in 1803 and didn't have the right kids anyway to be the father of Daniel and his siblings. Daniel was born in 1797 per his grave stone. Elizabeth was born about 1795. Catherine McCalip Halliday was already married before leaving NC, so I think Daniel was on of the younger children in the family. I am hoping someone knows the movements of the McKillips from NC to Ohio and can add to this to help me trace the parents of Daniel and his siblings.
