Links to Killip families

Anyone found any links of MacKillip to Killip families.

Killip is regarded as a Manx surname derived from MacPhillip/ MacKillip at some point, probably before records began. It is quite possible that Killip, Killips, Killop, MacKillip and all variants (Kallip/ McKelip/ MacKillop etc) have a common ancestry.

In the Manx Manorial records from 1511-1515 there appear to be Killip, MacKillip and IneKillip names where the Mac patrinomic prefix (son of) and Ine prefix (daughter of) are optional. By the 17th century all seem to be locally standardised as Killip in the Isle of Man, Killips and MacKillip in Ireland and Killop/MacKillip etc in Scotland. The most likely name migration route looks like MacKillip coming from Scotland to the Isle of Man during 14th century (transmuting to Killip by 1600) with concurrent migration to Ireland or subsequent migration with plantation settlements.

Is anyone researching the medieval origins of these family names?
