Albert,

Thanks for responding to my query. The Thomas Mackie in my wife's family was born Oct. 18, 1724 in Burnsquare, Ceres Fife, Scotland. Later he migrated to Tyrone County, Ireland. From here he migrated to America with some of his family and eventually settled in Madison County, GA where he died ca. 1796. He was believed to have been married first to Isabel Mores (Morris) before moving to Tyrone County. He married second, most likely after the death of Isabel, Rosannah McIntire??. My wife descends through their son, Samuel Mackie and wife, Mary Clarke who moved from Madison Co., GA to Franklin and Banks Co., GA.

I have no record of the Thomas McKie born in Edgefield, SC. It is quite possible that they are from the same line. The spelling of the Mackie name in my wife's line changed from MACKIE to McKie ca. 1830.

Thanks for sharing. If I can share further, please let me know.
Bill
