please check at 'www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk as i have come across william mckie & mary s davidson old luce wigtown also at www.dumgal.gov.uk/services/depts/comres/library/census_searchresults.asp it is for 1851 census and i think you are looking for mckie old luce kilfillan.household no:2/24 hope this is some help to you as i am related to archibald mckie of old luce but do not know if it is a brother of william as both were born ireland.my archibald's father was a thomas born ireland and his father was a soldier 'good luck' for the future searches and hope this might help
