George McKibbin, Belfast Harbour master

Hello--

If anyone has information on one George McKibbin, who was Harbour Master of Belfast between 1832-1850, I would like to learn more. There is some evidence sugfgesting that this person was a younger brother to my own ancestor, William McKibbin, sea captain from Belfast.
George McKibbin (b. 1782/3 d. 1850)was married to Jane Sinclair. He is known to have had the following children: Alexander McKibbin, Hugh Bowden McKibbin and Jane Sinclair McKibbin. Hugh Bowden McKibbin is believed to have had a son named George who moved to Sacremento, California. Alexander, apparently had a son who immigrated to Australia. Many of the people in this family were associated with the shipping business. I also believe this family was related to a Hyland family, which was prominent in Belfast. I am attempting to determine whether there is a true connection between my ancestor, William and this George. Any information towards this end would be most appreciated.

thanks,

Thomas
