Thanks for that; there is an outside chance.The Walter who emigrated had a greatuncle John who was born in Holborn about 1835 and apart from a reference in the 1841 census, when he was living in Gray's Inn Lane, he disappears completely thereafter.The John I was referring to - my great-grandfather - was born in Holborn in May 1857 and married Marion Head at St Andrews Holborn in August 1877.He died in the same area in 1923.Amongst eight known surviving children, they did have a son Johnathan [sic] Henry McKew who was Walter's older brother and was born in 1878, but other than that he was a fireman and died about 1935, I know nothing about him.It might have helped if I'd explained that my McKews lived almost entirely in the Holborn area between c.1833 and the time of the last war.Thanks for coming back to me, and if I can help with any Holborn McKew data, do let me know.
