Do you have any dates for the eldest of all your Thomas McKernans?

Although I do not know for sure if I have any Thomas McKernans/McKiernans in either of my two lines, there is always a possibility I could. I have many 'missing' people in both lines. Most all my dates are pre 1900 and in Ireland, in Co. Leitrim and Co. Antrim.

I have found a descendant with connections to Ohio in my Co. Antrim line.

As for the name McKernan/McKiernan, it originated in the area of Tullyhunco, in the western Briffney area of Co. Cavan and the bordering area on the east of Co. Leitrim. The original spelling as I understand it was MacTieghernain, from which all other variants come. When searching for McKernans it's important to be open to various spellings. I have found the name spelled McKirnan and McKeirnon, both with connections to my family.

Look forward to hearing from you.
