Hi Leslie:
I descend from the McCowns of Rocky Creek in Chester County, SC. Locals in Chester say my McCowns and the McKeowns of Blackstock are unrelated. Our McCowns were McKeown before the spelling change.
In our McCown group we have been doing DNA testing. I work at the Dallas Public Library in Dallas, Texas and a man from the Blackstock area of Chester has come in and he is agreeable to test with the DNA. We would like to get some people help us pay for the test. We would also like to learn the lineage of your McKeowns. It will be interesting to see the DNA results.
