My g-grandfather was John McKeown born @1849 in Ireland. The 1881 Census in Vespra, Simcoe North, Ontario lists him as head of household, married to Emma McKeown (nee Atkinson per our family Bible). She was born @1856 in Ontario. Two children at that point were my grandfather, George Robert McKeown, aged 2 born Ontario and John Thompson McKeown, aged 1 year also born Ontario. All were Church of England. Our bible shows they lived in Barrie, Ontario and eventually had 12 children (George, John, Edeth May, Ruth Gertrode, Mary Olive, Walter Sidney, Jennie Eliz, Ethel Winfred, Anna Melena, Emmily, Lillian V, & Levearn Francis) between 1878 and 1900 - the last few born in Michigan. John and Emma died and were buried near Spokane, Washington in 1914 and 1912.
The next family in the census records is Ann McKeown, widow, born Ireland in @1807. Her household included Wm McKeown born approx 1846, Ireland and Eliza McKeown born @ 1856, Ireland.
I believe that Ann may have been William and John's mother although our bible shows her name as Nancy. I am looking for John's father and mother (our family bible shows George and Nancy) and birth locations in Ireland.
