The only thing I see in the SC records so far on this is that Samuel(Short Sam) "married a Miss Caldwell who came from Ireland." from notes on the John Seed McKeown family record. Thomas O'Neal McKeown's extensive document on McKeowns says "Caldweld" as his wife. His father is listed as Jackson(Jackie) McKeown who "came from Ireland in 1763 with his family and settled west of Blackstock in Chester County , SC on Little River Creek. His house stood across the creek, south of the old McKeown cemetery. He is buried in the McKeown cemetery. His grave is marked by a hand made soapstone marker and bears this mark 'J. McKeown." He had a sister, Elizabeth, and a brother, Robert. His sister Elizabeth married James McKeown. James' sister Mary married Long Sam McKeown mentioned in your note.

B. McKeown Martin
