Looking for info regarding my grandmother Margaret Ellen McKenzie. She was born in/near Belvidere,Il Aug 1896 to Thomas McKenzie & Margaret McCormick. She had brother Elmer Leo born 1891 and a brother Johnny (no info other that he died in infancy). Also an uncle Tom McCormick in the Kane Co,Il area I believe. He died in Elburn Il sometime after 1900. Family story has Thomas abandoning the family at least by 1900 as he is not in the 1900 census w/them. According to the headstone picture my mother has it shows grandmother's moms dates as 1862-1919. Grandmother married Hiram Smith Sept 1922 at St Michaels Rectory in Wheaton. They lived in Dupage,Cook & Kane counties in Illinois before settling in Montgomery Co,Il for several years. Most of grandmothers life after marriage we know about. It's the time before that is a blank slate. Can anyone assist ??
