Wayne: Yes, I remember that we 'talked' and shared information about John & Nancy in Adair County. Were you ever able to get an obit for either John or Nancy? Even if all that can be learned is that Nancy was a Tune/Toon and born in Gallatin County, Kentucky - that is all we need to be certain that I've made the right connection here. John, senior, posted bond in Gallatin County for his son, John, Junior, to marry. Until we have better proof, we can only quess that I'm might be right. At this point we have no PROOF that John of Adair County and James of St. Louis and Marion counties were brothers and that they were sons of John in Kentucky. Everything that I have given you is based on circumstantial evidence. I have recently made contact with someone who is a descendant of George McKenney who would have been the fourth brother. Another person who was a descendant of George was Corey McKenney Smith who in the 1960s contributed her knowledge of the family. She was of an age that she knew Benoni (her grandfather) who was George's son. Evidently family tradition was preserved in that line. Her material has been microfilmed and is on film FHLC #1421999 Item 11. The connection that I've made for Benjamin F. McKenney's father being a brother is even more flimsy than the one that I've made for your John. The proof would really be in finding a living descendant of James & Benjamin who would be willing to participate in the yDNA surname study. Then we would know for sure. Also - if we could find a living male descendant of your John McKenney and Nancy Tune who would participate in the study, that would definitely put them in the right family group! ---- Jody Notify Administrator about this message?
