Thank you very much for your reply. My confusion re: the mother of George W McKENNEY stems from a Biographical Sketches source on one of his sons, Shelton Abednigo MCKENNEY. In that source, the mother of George McKENNEY was listed as Sarah of KY. I had suspected James and Mary BEATTY, but wondered if James might have had a second wife named Sarah. Alternatively, the story about Shelton A. may have simply gotten it wrong, because I have been very unsuccessful in my search for a Sarah.
I would love to see your findings on the McKENNEY family. If you would like to know about the descendents of George and Rebecca and their life after leaving KY, I would be happy to share what I know.
Also, I contacted Georgia re: the DNA project.
