I am trying to identify the family of my g-grandmother, Mary or Minnie McKENNEY or McKENNA who married William ANDERSON in Baltimore, Maryland, 1888. I have found their marriage records, and various censuses for them after their marriage; I have a date of birth for Mary/Minnie per her daughter [now deceased]. I cannot locate her death certificate thus far [despite a date of death per her daughter, which date appears to be wrong] in order to ascertain who her parents were. Her dau. told me the following: Mary/Minnie was b. in Baltimore [1861-62 per censuses], 1 of 3 children [2 girls and a boy]. She married William ANDERSON in the Basilica of Assumption Cathedral in Baltimore. Her sister Anna married Patrick MULLEN, they had several children, of whom the eldest dau. is said to have married and moved to Canada. They also had at least one son named Leo Mullen. [I've found this family in the censuses up to 1900 I believe.] I first found Minnie McKenny in the 1880 census working as a servant in someone's home. I found an Anna McKenny similarly employed [in another household], both of them the right ages. I discovered their brother's name by checking the 1890 City Directories for Baltimore---an Andrew McKenny was living w/ his married sister Mary/Minnie Anderson, and was the same occupation as her husband [printer]. Searching backwards thru the censuses, I found the following McKENNY families: 1870 MD Baltimore Ward 18, Baltimore [Indep. City], p. 130. KENNEY Bernard 1st Regiment, MD Infantry. Co. B [note: no more children b. to Barnet & Mary, if same people, after 1862-63; father could have been deceased by 1862] Mary McKenney, mother of Mary/Minnie, Anna and Andrew, cannot be found in the 1880 census; neither can Andrew. Assume both parents are dec'd. By 1900 the Anderson's had moved to Washington D.C. [and thence to NY City by 1910]. I believe I have found Andrew in the 1900 census in Ohio: 1900 - Ohio, Hamilton Co., 4 Ward Cincinnati. p. 186. enum date 8 Jun 1900 #1133 104 161 Belvedere St. McKENNEY Andrew. head.
