That is interesting. We have been trying to solve a puzzle in our family. This John McKenna, owned a brickyard out by Kensington Avenue in the 1850-1870s. It looks like he did not have a male heir to take over his businesses(he had multiple ones. His 1860 Census indicates that he was born in Philadelphia @1818, which makes him a very early arriving Irishman. He is kind of a lynch pin for our family, because two of our relatives Michael J, and Ephraim spent time working for him in Philadelphia.
Michael may have even lived with him at some point when he was younger.
Maybe, your Daniel islinked to this also, do you happen to know where he lived in Philadelphia?
Let me know, if you want the information I have on John. Thanks..Joe
