For Patrick McKenna B 1845 +/- 4 yrs somewhere in Ireland with the father's forename unknown, I found 110 rcds with 12 in 1845 (exact).

For Alice Connolly B ditto, I found 12 rcds.

It is likely that Alice and Patrick came from the same Irish county. This helps narrow the search slightly. Also, if you can get more precise DOB for both, this will further narrow the number of false positives.

You can further reduce the number of false positives by finding either their church or civil marriage rcds in the U.S. These often show their parents' names and placename for their origin.
