According to parish records, Bishop Patrck McKenna was born on January 10 1869, in the townland of Moy. His home was on the main Dublin to Derry road adjacent to Moybridge, which crosses River Blackwater into Co Tyrone. Patrick's father Bernard McKenna, a farmer and his mother was Catherine, nee' Donohue. He had three brothers and two sisters. Margaret was the eldest, born in 1860, John in 1862, Catherine 1864, Bernard in 1866 and Peter 1871.
