Richard Thomas McKenna lifelong resident of Des Plaines The funeral service for Richard Thomas McKenna, 59, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, at G. L. Hills Funeral Home, 745 Graceland Ave., Des Plaines. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home. Born May 5, 1948, in Chicago, he died Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Mr. McKenna was an estimator for John Byrne Printing Company. He was a member of National Hot Rod Association and was involved in ballroom dancing. He loved collecting antique sports cars and to watch racing, and he was a big White Sox fan and Bears fan. He was the son of Betty A. (nee Hendricks) and the late Richard J.P. McKenna; brother of Mindy M. (Tony) Martin, Maureen C. (Ruben) Mack, Brian C. McKenna, James R. (Cynthia) McKenna, the late Thomas M. McKenna and the late Dale P. McKenna; uncle of Heather C. (Anthony) Zaragoza, Rachel A. (Pedro) Baltodano, Aaron R. Martin (fiancee, Brittany Konieczny), Lisa C. McIntosh, and the late John R. Mack and Curtis M. McIntosh; great-uncle of Grace A. Martin; and loving companion of five years to Catherine C. Wang. For information, 847-699-9003.
