MCKENNA, MARY R., July 15, 1913-June 25, 2007 Danielson, CT. 93, formerly of Providence, RI died on Monday. She was the wife of the late Michael J. McKenna, who died in July 1978, they were married on October 23, 1943.

Mrs. McKenna was born in Providence, R.I. on July 15, 1913, the daughter of the late Domenic and Eva (Markowski) Svedas. She attended the public schools. Upon graduation from high school, she worked at US Rubber in Providence, R.I. as a press operator, then as a supervisor. After her marriage in 1943, she devoted herself to raising her family. She relocated from Providence, R.I. to Danielson, CT in 1995 where she made her home with her daughter. She leaves four sons, Michael of Macedon, N.Y., Anthony of Boston, MA, Gerald of Richmond, VA and Edmund McKenna of Hoboken, N.J.; a daughter Margaret McKenna of Providence, six grandchildren, one great-grandchild. She was predeceased by a son, Joseph McKenna.

Funeral from the Gagnon-Costello Funral Home, 33 Reynolds St., Danielson, Ct on Tuesday (July 3, 2007) at 9:00AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM at St. James Church, 12 Franklin St., Danielson, CT. Burial following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in East Providence RI at 1PM. Calling hours are on Monday 7-9 PM. Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer Association, 279 New Britain Rd., Suite 5, Kensington, CT 06037.
