Hello, my Mckendricks were near Letterkenny in the 1860's. James McKendrick married Sarah Anne Bonar around 1863. Family legend it has it that James came over from Scotland with a Scottish lord or wealthy person and managed his land. This appears borne out in that in his children's birth records his occupation is given as "landsteward. At least one of James' children ended up in Derry and owned a pub there.
