Hi

According to our family, my great great grandfather John McKelvie was born on the Isle of Arran. However, in my research this family line has proved elusive and I would love it if someone out there could help. John McKelvie would have been born c 1845. He married Margaret McKay on Jan 22 1872 in Glasgow. His parents were John McKelvie and Mary Bell. I have not been able to find details of John's birth (when I got film out for the Isle of Arran 1845 was missing!). The Scottish marriage entry form does not specify where born. I do not have a date for his parents' marriage either. Any help would be appreciated.

Carol.
