C. Pearl McKelvey

Mrs. C. Pearl McKelvey, 97, of Duncansville, died Thursday morning, April 9, 1998, at Bon Secours Holy Family Hospital, following an extended illness.
She was born Sept. 23, 1900, in Huntingdon, the daughter of the late Harry E. and Margaret (Waldsmith) Whitsel. She married Norbert A. McKelvey Dec. 23, 1920, in Juniata. He died Dec. 5, 1978.
Mrs. McKelvey was a member of the Canan Station Mennonite Church, where she was a member of the ladies group and had helped with Bible school over the years.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. McKelvey enjoyed painting and gardening.
She was a member of the Alto Artists Guild and the American Association of Retired Persons and a charter member of the Canan Station Volunteer Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
Surviving are a daughter, Freda M. Morrison of Duncansville, a granddaughter and two great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home, Duncansville.

McKelvey

Services for Mrs. C. Pearl McKelvey of Duncansville will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville, by her nephew, Pastor Jack A. Park, and Pastor Daryl “Doc” Dawson. Interment at Alto-Reste Park. Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday and 10 a.m. until the time of the services Tuesday at Liebegott-Fisher Funeral Home Inc., Duncansville. Also surviving are one niece, Norma Jean Duttry; two nephews: Pastor Jack A. Park and Martin F. McKelvey; and two great-grandchildren: Christina and Randall. Preceded in death by two brothers: Carl and Harold; and a sister, Eldred Cherry. Memorial contributions may be made to Bible Baptist Church Missionary Fund, 1455 Hamilton Ave., Tyrone, Pa. 16686.
