FAMILY OF ROBERT AND ELIZABETH McKELVEY/McKELVA)
In the 1850 US Census(2) they had no children having lost two infants; lived in Pawtucket, Bristol County, MA (after 1862 Providence Co., RI), dwelling 270, family 391; both were born in Ireland; Robert was 32, a shoemaker; Elizabeth was 28; they had real estate worth 2000. In the 1880 US Census (3) Robert was 63, born in Ireland, a shoemaker, widowed, head-of-household. The birth/death records(1) list them as McKelva, the two censuses(2,3) as McKelvey, the Oak Grove Cemetery transcription(4)(OGCem) as McKelvey. Probably the Robert F. McKelvey of OGCem (1814-29 Dec 1898) is this Robert McKelvey.
Birth records(1) give the following births and deaths with Robert & Elizabeth as parents, all in Pawtucket:

John J. b. 29 Mar 1857 (OGCem: a John J. 1857-1924)
William P. b. 1 Dec 1859 (1880 Census: William F. McKelvey, age 20, currier, borne in RI, single, in house of Robert McKelvey, age 63)

McKelveys in Pawtucket: John (age 78, shoemaker in 1850, born in Ireland); John & Matilda McKelva with 3 births(1) (Elizabeth 1847-1848, Joseph b. 1848, Martha b. 1852); Joshua (age 38 in 1850(2), printworker) & Mary A. (45 sic! in 1850) McKelva/McKelvey with, in 1850(2), three children born in Ireland (James (age 21, printworker), Loody (age 18, printworker), Mary J. (age 15)) and later two births (same mother?) in Pawtucket (Elizabeth F. b. 1857 and Sidney D. 1861-1932); Martha (age 9 in 1850, in house with John (age 78; Joshua (b. abt. 1830 in Pawtucket). My family notes: John seems to be the father (1774-1867) of Loudy McKelvy of Sugar Grove, Warren Co., PA (abt. 1808-8 Aug 1888 born in Carrick Fergus, N Ire). Elizabeth4 (1777-9 Jun 1848) seems to be John’s wife. Others in various records. More on them later.
