FYI
The Okemah Okla. Ledger, Thursday, October 26 1922

Mrs. Malinda Knight, wife of Jacob Knight, deceased, died on the night of the 17th inst, at the home of Walter Rhea of Schoolton, at the age of 65 years. The funeral services were held at High Springs Baptedt church south of Okemah . Her brother, John Maxwell of Mounds, attended the burial, and he and her two daughters, Mrs Geo. Wind and Mrs Foster of Okemah, survive her.
Mrs Knight had been subject to a paralytic disease and the last stroke resulted in her death. She was buried at the old family buring ground near whee her husband wes buried.
Mrs. Knight was for a long time a member of the Missionary Baptist church, holding her membership with the Greenleaf church near Okemah. She was a faithful Christian worker among the Indian people. However, she herself was not an Indian, but was raised by the old Indian settlers of the Crek nation in Indian Territory. She and her brother, Maxwell came into custody of the indian settlers during there minority and were reared anobng the Creek tribe. They became citizens of the Creek nation by adoption and were enrolled on the Creek roll as full blood Indians.
Mrs. Knight had a host of frinds and acquaintances during her lifetime and her departure was a shock to many young and old.

Found this yesterday at the Oklahoma Historical Society.
