Nelsen & Daniel McKellar are listed in the Kane Co IL Farmer's Directory for Plato Township. www.genealogytrails.com/ill/Kane/1918. My great, great grandfather, John Mitchell, was buried in the McKellar family plot in Plato Township, Kane Co., Illinois. I visited there about twenty years ago and the gravestones were knocked down and damaged. I could only read the names. I have wondered why he was buried there. Decided the McKellars must have been his mother's relatives. John & Nancy Mitchell were of Scottish descent but lived in Ireland. They emigrated to Canada in the 1820's. I presume they lived in a town called Russeltown as I recently learned that my great, great grandfather, Abraham Beamish's son was born in Russeltown. Abraham was married to John & Nancy Mitchell's daughter Sarah.
