Campbell McKellar

I am also emailing this to Peter McKellar as I bet he can give me the information. I recently acquired a copy of a 5 page letter that I believe was to my great uncle, Senator Kenneth Douglas McKellar from Tennessee. It was from C.D. (Campbell) McKellar and, while I do not believe he was an ancestor of mine, it was most interesting and I would love to find out more about him.

Among many things, he states (and I verified it on the internet) that Mount MacKellar near the South Pole was named after him by Sir Ernest Shacketon and his expedition and that he apparently had many interesting friends, among them Mark Twain and his family.

I have seen your postings regarding the Skenes and apparently his uncle Carid (hard to read the correct spelling) was married to a Skene. Accordingly to him the uncle was murdered in Mexico where he had property.

I would love to get some information.
